You've been invited to TeamFees — what is this?

Your team treasurer uses TeamFees to track team costs and what each family owes. Here's what the invitation is and whether it's legitimate.

Your team's treasurer — a volunteer parent, usually — uses TeamFees to keep track of what the team spends and what each family owes. The invitation came from them, not from a company trying to sell you anything.

TeamFees replaces the spreadsheet-and-group-text version of the same job. Instead of a treasurer messaging twenty families individually, you get one page showing what you owe, what it pays for, and how to send payments.

Subject: Invitation to Join Surf FC for 2025-2026 on TeamFees

To the parents of Avery Brooks,

You have been invited by your team treasurer, Rowan Clark, to join Surf FC for 2025-2026 on TeamFees.

TeamFees is a simple website that tracks all team fee payments and expenses…

Click here to join your team.
The invitation, as it arrives. It comes from your treasurer, and the link takes you to a page where you choose a password.

Is it safe?

  • TeamFees never handles your money.Payments go straight to your treasurer, by whatever method they've chosen. Nothing routes through us. See how payments actually flow.
  • No card or bank details are stored with TeamFees. If your team accepts card payments, that happens on Stripe's own checkout page, the same processor used by millions of businesses.
  • You only see your own family.Other families' balances aren't visible to you, and yours isn't visible to them.

What happens next

  1. Click the link in the invitation to create a password.
  2. You'll land on your Payments page, showing anything currently owed.
  3. Pay using whichever option your treasurer has set up.
Not sure the email is genuine? Ask your treasurer directly before clicking anything — that's good advice for any email about money, including ours.
